Question by sherman supporter: what is the best way to get stains out of indoor/outdoor carpet?
we are in a small rental with indoor/outdoor carpet (or the same type that’s in offices) throughtout. i have a 3 year old who spills a lot. since carpet is throughtout, eating/drinking somewhere carpetfree isn’t an option. the regular shampooer doesn’t seem as effictive on this texture of carpet. plus, it’s a pain to bring it out EVERY week for all the spills which have added up. anyone know of a good quick, spot clean method for the indoor/outdoor carpet?

I use white vinegar. I keep a spray bottle on hand which contains 1 part vinegar and 3 parts water. As soon as there is a spill, I blot up the excess liquid and then spray with the vinegar mixture. Then blot out the stain. It has been successful for everything that has been spilled on our carpet. The vinegar smell dissipates as it dries.
