We just bought a house and had new carpet put in. Our baby got sick and threw up on the carpet. We cleaned it up, but the smell is still terrible. I don’t want to damage the carpets. Any suggestions?

The people that were renting my home from me recently moved out so when I went over to straighten up to re rent it I realized that they had decided to let their dogs use one of the spare rooms as an indoor bathroom. The entire carpet is heavily stained and to the point of being sticky with all the urine that is in it. At this moment I do not have enough money to re carpet the room and really need to get new renters in a.s.a.p. I own a Hoover SteamVac Agility (http://products.howstuffworks.com/hoover-agility-f6212900-heavyweight-deep-cleaning-machine-review.htm) and Ive heard not to use steam for pet stains because it just sets them in but it says its used for pet stains. Should I use this machine to clean it or is their another way that not extremely expensive???

No, and no.
If the carpet is as you describe, you will never get the home rented unless you get rid of the urine and the odor.
No way is this going to be inexpensive. Either remove the carpet and the padding, scrub the floor and seal it with an odor blocking primer, and simply paint it, or don’t rent it out. Your choice.
