I want to repaint my bedroom for a newer look. I already have beige carpet in there which i am not replacing, so i need a paint color to match the carpet. Any suggestions?

Question by : What wall color would go good with dark green carpet?
My fiance and I just bought our first home and the entire upstairs is wall to wall dark green carpet. Even in the bathroom. I personally would love to rip it up and put down new carpet, but it’s not something we’re willing to do at the moment. The wall color is currently a peach color. There’s a very big half moon window that lets in alot of light. Any ideas of a good color to match the carpet?

It sounds very much like it. There is no need to replace all the carpet , as most people think they do. If you have a spare piece of carpet or take a piece from a place it will not show( under heavy furniture or from inside a closet. Cut the piece of carpet that has the mold growth on it out. Use a safety knife or razor. Treat the bottom of the whole with a proprietary fungicide , Once this has been done, dab the whole and the ends of the tufts with a suitable latex adhesive , insert the tufts into the hole and allow to dry , then brush to blend with the pile. This way will save you a lot of money.

how do we get stains out? The carpet has to be sooo cheap because it stains so easily. We shampoo it every 60 days . Is there something else I can put on it that will prevent it to stain?

I have been told to use vinegar to get the dog’s peepee smell out of my carpet after I clean the area. Every cleaner I have tried doesn’t not completely get rid of the smell, so I want to further de-odorize. I am worried that vinegar will bleach the carpet, though. I am also not a big fan of the smell of vinegar. I have a window above the area I need to de-odorize and two fans to work with, so I can probably manage to get most of the vinegar aroma out the window, but I would rather work with something not as repelling-smelling. Any suggestions? I would really appreciate it! Thank you!
I would LOVE to tear up the carpet, but I live in military housing and they won’t let us do that. I have asked the supervisor at the housing office if there is a way we can arrange to replace the carpet and padding in that area, but I will be charged over $ 500 dollars to replace an area no bigger than 3×7. Until I can afford to do that, I will have to find other ways. I have a steam cleaner for carpets that works really well at getting the urine out of the carpet, but it still smells so badly. Baking soda is difficult to work with on a burbur carpet, it’s hard to tell when it is all vacuumed up, and when used as a paste, it gets stuck between fibers and when it doesn’t come out completely it dries hard and makes the carpet feel like sandpaper in spots. I prefer to not work with it.

Baking Soda ought to do the trick for deodorizing the carpeting. You can even put in on as a paste and allow to dry then vacuum up.

I am buying new bedding but am not sure what color to purchase. My walls are a semi-dark brown and my carpet is white and my furniture is brown/black. I was thinking of doing an expresso like color but I’m wondering if that would clash with the furniture. Otherwise I was thinking of doing a bronze color which would be lighter. I am thinking of buying from the Macy’s hotel collection also and was wondering if anyone had any reviews on that. Thanks
